When you put low class people at Jogoya

A couple of days ago my friends decided to treat me to an expensive Japanese Buffet dinner at Jogoya in Starhill. Jogoya is a nice classy restaurant with the largest variety I have ever seen in a Japanese Buffet.

The problem was... my friends and I are anything but "classy".

To make matters worse, everyone left their girlfriends at home and it was an "all-guy" dinner, the kind of dinner where everyone takes the opportunity to misbehave in the absence of girlfriends saying

"Stop it darling.. you're embarrassing me!".

Let me introduce one of my friends... Adrian.

Adrian is a very smart guy I got to know doing A-levels at HELP.

He's a straight-A student currently studying engineering in Canada.

Yet, in spite of his straight-As he is one of the guys that make me wonder how wrong the education system can be in deciding who's an idiot and who's not.

For example, Adrian has once taken a dump in an elevator

(even bringing his own toilet seat).

He also occasionally eats grass for the fun of it (yes... grass... the type that cows eat) and he once went for a job interview with a Canadian shipping company where they asked him

"So what do you know about our company?"

he replied "I know you have a lot of ships".

The interviewer considered shortly that he might be talking to an idiot but taking a quick glance at the straight As he had on his CV... he attempted another question

"Okay... so why do you want to work for us?"

and Adrian replied "Because I like ships... and you have a lot of ships".

Adrian didn't get the job which was very shocking because we all thought he did very well in the interview.

Anyway, back to Jogoya. When we first started eating dinner, we were the most well-mannered and civilized table in the restaurant

(partly because we started early and there was only one other table in our area).

But as the night went on... we got out a little out of control.

First came the loud laughing and the more physical acts of stupidity.

For example, a normal person would drink the yummy coconut drink like this but Adrian on the other hand drinks it like this

Then halfway through the dinner we got bored. One of our friends named Ah Bon was away getting more food and the rest of us at the table sat there looking at his half-finished coconut drink.

It didn't take long before one of us filled it up with Soya Sauce

(the same bastards did the same thing to me once but only with pepper and salt).

When Ah Bon came back, we put on a beautiful show... chatting about everything and waiting almost 5 minutes before Ah Bon decided to take a sip of his coconut soya sauce juice.

    The result...

no projectile puking (which was disappointing)... but a little bit of throwing up (or wanting to throw up).

At the end of the dinner, we were a little embarrassed because the service at the restaurant was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly and tolerant of our misbehaviour.

I'm sorry Jogoya... this will not happen again :(

    • That's why I wonder why Adrian looked so familar!

Ah Bon (Kelvin Pang?) and Adrian surely are from CHS, just one year my senior. And hell I wouldn't expect him to behave like that!

He was from one of the top science classes (proven from my year book) during high school time. If I'm not mistaken, he was also once the prefect. Oh, he hasn't changed his hairstyle since high school too!

      LOL.

    • EWE TIAM YOU RAGING LESBIAN

its probably too late now but i have to address a few issues to save my (last bit of) dignity.

      issue #1

i wasnt REALLY taking a dump. i just found a toilet bowl in the elevator and my friend and i thought it'll be cool to do something with it, since its not something we see everyday. so the photo is actually the most creative thing we could do before anyone sees us.

      issue #2

      i dont regularly eat grass.

      issue #3

the interview was a PHONE interview. and one thing you guys must know about phone interviews is that its HARD to know when to stop talking. in face-to-face interviews, you can play by the expressions on the interviewer's face. when he looks bored, its time to shut up. but on the phone, there's no way for me to know when to stop. so the more i talked, the stupider i get. by the end of it, i was rolling all over the floor, cursing myself, wanting to hang up and cry. besides.. those weren't accurately my answers anyway. my real answers actually sound a little more dumb and i'm not gonna say what.

i guess that's just about it. EWE TIAM, next time post something pleasant about me. its a hard subject to write about but that's what makes a good blogger great. anyway, thank goodness that's all the bad things you know about me.
