Drive around anywhere in Malaysia and you'll find that its all over the country.

It is a car that somehow never fails to remind you of home when you see it abroad on the road. Now I've heard about this video for a long time but I never really got to watch it till today... It's a snippet from Top Gear (a TV show in the UK that features cars).
Jeremy Clarkson, the host of the show who is used to driving the best cars in the world hated the Kelisa and decided to torture the poor car to death. If you have a Kelisa.. you would feel the pain. If you don't... then... MUAHAHAHAHA...
And if you have a Proton, like me... then don't laugh.. we're no better off :(
On another Top Gear video I found, they tested the handling of our Kenari.
Lesson of the day: Don't be stupid... don't try to Initial D in a Kenari.
Look on the bright side. At least Perodua managed to make it on Top Gear twice. Proton never made it more than 10 seconds in one of the earlier Top Gear episodes.
I've always thought of Top Gear as the car equivalent to The Tonight Show. These guys don't so much review cars as they do entertaining us with them. Just took for the episodes where they try to destroy a Toyota Hilux by submerging it in the sea, placing it on top of a building scheduled for demolition, using a wrecking ball on it, etc. Hilarious! (The car still works after all those btw).
ReplyDeleteTheir car reviews sometimes make sense, but I don't really take them seriously cos they like to slam every car for every reason imaginable. JC complained of the Lan Evo's inability to get off first gear, which I don't think is true given how I have never heard of such a problem. Hammod's actually happy that Honda is discontinueing the NSX because he thought it was an engineer's toy. WTF?
Anyways I think they reviewed Gen.2 in one show (google for it) along with other cheap asian imports and concluded that they are better off building their own cheap car, which they did using a washing machine and some drums. Again, the car actually works. =D
The torturing was abit harsh, no? I must say, not a very attractive car.
ReplyDeletehahaha reign.. i guess we have to try to understand... these are guys who drive ferraris, aston martins, lambos and even the buggatti veyron..
ReplyDeleteso i guess the evo and nsx is a joke to them
i like top gear
ReplyDeletei dl it everytime it comes out
its the ownz
haha william... talk like a true gamer
ReplyDeletelook at the safety precaution the drivers had on the 2nd video, certainly they were already expecting some "turtle back" to happen. lol.
ReplyDeleteJeremy likes Evo actually in one of the episode where he compare Evo, Impreza and an Audi. "Fun with capital E". ^_^
ReplyDeleteGot kah? I see the episode where the races the Evo with the Murcielago and altho he has high praises for the car, he still manages to slam it. The best episode still has to be the one where they drove the Ferrari F430, Ford GT40 and the Pagani Zonda but got stuck in the carpark. That was TEH CRACK! Everybody should go see that one. =D
ReplyDeletethey got stuck in the car park?! what what happened?
ReplyDeletethe cars were too low while the slope leading out to the street was too high, thus they risk scratching the undercarriage
ReplyDeletei dun care wat they say about the german and italian ventures, i still love the gallardo
haihh.. who doesn't love the gallarado
ReplyDeletepink panther car? where?
ReplyDeleteThe last car in the clip... You watched The Pink Panther movie then you will know.
